Top Exams That You Can Appear After Completion of B.Ed

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) is an undergraduate degree that must be obtained in order to teach at school. This is a two-year course that anyone with a bachelor's degree in any subject can complete. Teachers after completing B.Ed can apply various education related profession. Both government and private education sectors offer various career opportunities for those who wish to pursue jobs in education field.

There are various level of exams that qualify teachers to work in educational institutions. Some of the eligibility tests offered are:

  1. TEACHERS ELIGIBLITY TEST

This is an entrance exam conducted in two parts. It is jointly organized by central government and state government. The candidates appearing for the exam should be minimum 21 years. Candidates can opt to write either one or both the exams in accordance to which eligibility they wish to pursue i.e.; part one for lower primary and part two for upper primary selection.

  1. CTET- Central Teachers Eligibility Test

It is conducted under Central government by CBSE to recruit teachers to central government aided schools including all union territories. This exam can also be considered by states also to recruit teachers in state wise schools.

  1. STET- State Teachers Eligibility Test

It is conducted by state governments to recruit teachers in state government aided schools.State schools can assess CTET marks to appoint teachers if they do not wish to conduct state-based exams.

  1. UGC NET- National Eligibility Test

UGC net exam is conducted by the Union Grants Commission to determine the eligibility of Indian Nationalsfor Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor both in Indian Universities and Colleges. This is conducted for Arts subjects.
 
 
 
 

  1. SLET/SET-State Level Eligibility Test

This exam is conducted under state government in English Language. It is conducted for lectureship only. Those who qualify this exam can apply for the post of lecturer within the state. The validity of certificate is forever.
 

  1. CSIR UGC NET-Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Union Grants Commission,National Eligibility Test

This is conducted to determine the eligibility of Indian Nationalsfor Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor both in Indian Universities and Colleges. Like UGC NET it is conducted for Science related subjects.

  1. PRT, TGT, PGT

 
Secondary Education Service Selection Board conducts TGT/ PGT/PRT Recruitment Examination. It is conducted by most states to recruit graduate teachers that are graduates of either B.Ed or integrated degree course from NCERT.
